The stage from Lasses Grotta to Trolmen also encompasses varied nature types, several nature reserves, and some hilly terrain, reminding you that Kinnekulle is one of the region's several plateau mountains.
Today's stage begins in the Halla nature reserve with its dramatic sandstone cliffs. The journey continues northward, and after a fairly steep ascent, you reach the idyllic village of Blomberg with a beautiful view over Lake Vänern. The hike then continues to Västerplana Storäng, which offers beautiful old oak trees and meadows covered with wild garlic in early summer. The cliff edges just west of Västerplana church are also picturesque with beautiful cliff edges. Here and on several stretches along the trail, you walk through pastures with grazing animals, so follow the trail and keep dogs on a leash. The forest gradually takes over more and more along the route before passing through some meadows on the way down to Trolmen station, where the stage, and perhaps your entire hike along the Kinnekulle trail, ends. Hopefully, besides a multitude of nature experiences and views, you also carry several fond memories with you. Trolmen station is an experience in itself as it is a cozy little station that also, during the summer months, has a small library in the waiting room managed by the couple who also have their summer cottage in the old station building.
