The fourth section of the trail is 56 km long and runs between Fegen and Falkenberg. The route takes the visitor through a varied landscape and passes both forests and lakes. Part of the section is along the river Ätran. You continue through open landscapes and finally reach the city of Falkenberg, right by the sea.
When you leave Sjuhäradsbygden, you cycle further down towards Halland on a low-traffic country road and just after the county border you are in the community Fegen. Here you have a fantastic view of Lake Fegensjön with its varied wildlife. Here, great loons and ospreys nest and it is one of the few places in the world where you can get a spring-playing vendace on the hook. Enjoy nature and feel free to experience the area from a canoe.
In the small town there are is canoe and bicycle rental, convenience store, café and a hostel. You can also buy your fishing equipment here if yoy want to try your fishing luck.
Fegens hostel has a magnificent view of the lake. Take the opportunity to take a walk on the nature path Solvik, which runs from the hostel to the swimming area Linjevik, along the lake's west shore. Make a stop at Fegen's Chapel, just north of the hostel, for ar piece of history.
After Fegen´s community, you cycle on torwards Krogsered on a low-traffic, quiet little road. Once in Krogsered, you´ll pass the lake Lyngsjön with it´s nice swimming area. There is a BBQ area, a BBQ hut and swings for the children. The swimming area is equipped with a bathing jetty, toilets and changing rooms. Starting from the swimming area, there are hiking trails in different lenghts around the lake, ranging from about 2 km-13 km long. This place carries a lot of history and by Krogsered´s church you´ll find information about old legends and stories from various places.
From Krogsered you cycle on small quiet gravel roads through forest and open fields until you meet the country road outside Gällared. The road between Gällared and Askome has been named "Halland's most beautiful road" and here you cycle along the river Ätran on a low-traffic country road. In summer, traffic increases slightly as it is a popular route. Be extra careful on this part, especially with smaller children in the company. Here are fantastic views, rich flora and fauna and cultural trails. In Yttra Berg's nature reserve at Gällared, you are greeted by an ancient cultural landscape. Here is a nice farm museum that is always open. Along the stretch is also Yngeredsforsen with the Dead Fall. A nature trail leads you to the fall, which with its floating and mill gutters, high dam walls and lush nature is a nice excursion destination.
As the trail approaches Askome, the landscape opens up. You continue your bike ride on the country road to Vessigebro where you will find Loricks Smedja. Here, father and son Per-Anders and Lars Lorick start a 100-year forging tradition. They primarily forge the artistic pieces and these can be bought in a shop above the forge. Here you can also visit "Gurkbänken" an activities park with playground, outdoor gym, sculpture park, arboretum, boules courts and playground. In Vessigebro you will find a grocery store, bank, restaurant, accommodation and much more.
After Vessigebro, the trail continues on a low-traffic country road through a hilly landscape to Ljungby church. The cycle path continues through Ljungby community and past Falkenberg's racing track where large international motor competitions are held annually. Feel free to take a detour to Ljungsjön for a dip at the swimming area, or a walk around the lake of about 4 km.
You continue to follow small winding roads, among farms and arable land, until you reach Vinbergsmotet with a variety of companies and fast food restaurants. You follow the pedestrian and bicycle paths towards Falkenbergs train station where the cycle path has its final destination.
In Falkenberg you will find a wide range of events, shopping, accommodation, restaurants and not least lovely sandy beaches.

Get here: There are daily trains and buses to Falkenberg station. With Öresundsåg, you can take the bike with you on the train, subject to space.

Don't miss: Many people come from far away to Falkenberg to experience really good food. Everything from farm shops to award-winning restaurants and cafes. For example, you can't miss a pizza at Lilla Napoli or a coffee at Borgmästargården. If you want to extend your bike ride, you go down to Tullbron, the old stone bridge dating from the middle of the 18th century, which is located right in the center of Falkenberg. Where you can connect to the national cycle path Kattegattleden, which takes you either south to Helsingborg or north to Gothenburg.
