Näverkärr is known for its rich flowering of goldenrod in the spring, its long history and its species-rich forest environments. Here you will find an archipelago, cultural landscape and lush deciduous forest.

From the car park, follow the path to the east. Soon you will enter a coastal deciduous forest called Storskogen. Many of the trees are over 200 years old, but the forest may have been in this place since the Viking Age. Due to its long continuity, the lichen flora in the forest is very rich in species. More than 300 species were found during an inventory in the 80s. South of the forest, the path passes a meadow that lies on gravel. Large numbers of goldenrod bloom here in May.

Where the path divides, you can make a detour to the left to Karlsvik. On the way you pass an marsh. In Karlsvik there is a snazzy beach, framed by granite mountains. If you continue instead to the right, you will continue on Kuststigen, which passes through the reserve. Soon you will reach the next bay, Bredvik, where you can go up the mountain via a path with red marked stones and enjoy the view.

The coastal path continues a bit west before turning north and passing the farm Näverkärr. The farm is believed to date back to the Viking Age. The dwelling house was probably built in the early 18th century and was built during the first half of the 19th century.

Continue on the road north and turn right at the intersection and you will return to the car park.
